Year 4 had a celebratory collective worship on the topic of Gifts.
We invited all of the parents, sang some lovely hymns and spoke some beautiful words that will carry us through the season of Advent.
A Reading from the First Letter of John
‘God’s love for us was shown in this way.
God sent Jesus into the world.
God’s only Son was given to us
so that we could have life through him.
This is what love is: not our love for God
but God’s love for us,
when God sent Jesus to take away our sins.
My dear people, since God loves us so much
we ought to love one another.
No one has ever seen God,
but if we love one another God will live in us
and the love which God gives will be made perfect in us.’
We also read out some of our amazing limericks, here is a sample:
Playing with a toy
Will give you some joy
But an act of love
Is like a dove
You should never destroy
I have this beautiful, kind friend
And our bond will never end
She’s so kind
She has a wonderful mind
If there’s ever a problem she will try to mend
