On Tuesday, Year 6 were invited to watch the West End hit musical Matilda at St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School. They were on the edge of their seats watching the amazing, talented cast perform.
In the afternoon, the children were very excited to mix with Year 6 classes from other schools and learn more about St Edmund Arrowsmith. The prefects guided us around the school grounds and answered any questions the children had. We then met in the hall and took part in fun activities and learnt the schools mission statement as well as how to sign ‘Prepare the way for the Lord.’
Year 6 also had an opportunity to write a letter to their future self. When they return in Year 7, the staff will deliver their letters.
The children’s responses about the day:
‘I enjoyed when all the cast sang together. It is a big school and all the teachers seemed nice.’
‘I enjoyed when Miss Trunchbull forced Bruce to eat the cake and having a tour of the school.’
‘I was able to mix with other Year 6 children to try and make new friends ready for high school.’
‘I liked watching the show because I want to join a drama club in high school.’
‘I enjoyed walking around the school and meeting the students.’
