This week, Y5 were thinking about learning to be happy. We looked at the news and found out that there is currently a pilot study in 370 schools for the teaching of mindfulness to help pupils with their emotions and mental health.
We talked about happy and sad times in our lives and ways that we can deal with sadness. We found out that everyone deals with sadness in different ways and there is no right way, everybody is different.
We talked about a situation and we all had different ways that we would deal with it. Some people suggested talking to others, being alone, listening to music or reading. We learnt that it is important to accept all our feelings so that we can be truly happy.
